Visitor Visa Extension: If you wish to stay longer than 90 days, you can apply for a 60-day extension at the National Immigration Agency within Taiwan, potentially allowing for a total stay of 150 days. Approval is discretionary but common for tourists.

Gold Card: For those considering very long-term or frequent stays, Taiwan’s “Employment Gold Card” is a flexible 1-3 year visa for specific professionals, investors, and those with special skills. While not designed for retirees, some may qualify based on financial independence or other criteria.
